Introduction
From UX Salon Hello, everyone! I’m thrilled to share my experience from a special session I conducted on October 22, 2022. As a 27-year-old Digital Product Designer from Egypt, with a rich background working at Stars and Stories and previously at WakeCap, I led a session titled “Usability Test from Planning to Analysis in Designing Digital Products” at UX Salon. My journey from graphic design through front-end development to product design has been filled with learnings that I was eager to share.
Overview of the Session
This session was an in-depth exploration of usability testing in digital product design. We covered everything from what usability testing is to advanced techniques in its execution and analysis. The aim was to provide a holistic understanding of this essential process in product design, ensuring products are not only visually appealing but also user-friendly.

- Real-world case studies, including an activity for the Talabat app and a case study from my work on the Cartona app.
Engaging the Audience
Learning is a two-way street, so audience engagement was a core part of our session. Participants formed small groups, taking on roles of an observer, interviewer, and tester. This hands-on approach helped in understanding the nuances of usability testing in a real-world setting.
